Our trip to the Laundrette

Our first trip to the Laundrette. The pictures are self-explanatory! :D

Ammar getting all excited over the machines - lots and lots of machines!!

Hmm... let's see if I can understand Spanish.
Por favor = Please; solamente (I've seen this around, I think it means only); jaboon en liquido = I think it's liquid soap, cause jaboon looks like sabun anyways; maquinos = easy, machines, cause there's only 4 machines that are like this one!! Yeaaa!! I read Spanish!! :D

Ammar and an elder chica Latina. Hmmm.. possible girlfriend?? Naahh!! Not yet, cause it was like listening to a duck and a chicken talking together! :D

The dryers. Lots and lots of them!

The trusted tandem Jeep stroller that carried Ammar and the laundry. Just like the other Hispanics do right here in the neighborhood. Hey, we're fitting in quite well I would say! :)

Lady Blurr... Hahahaha.. Notice the vacant blur look. That's me observing people, duh!!

And we have the brother, living in his own world. Check out the board shorts - dah tak sejuk dah!! Omputeh la katakan!!

Cafe Crepes - Third Street Promenade

After my assessment test for the work position at Santa Monica College, we had brunch at Cafe Crepe. GOD! It tastes like heaven - but for those who knows me and my appetite - the food was kinda dainty. What to do people!! I am a healthy woman ok!! :D

Yes, Ayman changed clothes twice - black was too hot that day. "Mama, badan Ayman rasa panas laa Mama!!"

Museum of Natural History

This was during Ayman's birthday, we went to LA Museum of Natural History. Took the 204 Metro bus and walla!! Got there... Ahem, we've got bus passes ok. So whenever we go on bus rides, we just flash the pass to the driver and we get in. No hassle of fumbling around for coins and such.

Anyway, the museum is SOOOO FREAKING COOL. Didn't actually had much time to go though cause we went there after lunch, but the next trip I go, I want to go a lil longer. It has such an interesting setup and exhibits.

I also wanna go to LACMA and MOCA. It's interesting, but haven't had the chance yet.

The bedrooms

My room - again with the model of the year, Ammar. This is the Queen-sized IKEA bed that I told you guys in the last post.

And, of course Afiq's room. I had to snap this photo as soon as possible, cause if not, he'd stream the floor with all his clothing, as it is right now. So, this is probably the cleanest shot of his room. :D

My Apartment

The lovely kitchen. Small but functional. The folding table by the stove was added recently - courtesy from IKEA. I don't have much preparation area space, so the folding table was added to solve that problem.

The view of the back dor and my new tandem stroller I bought to push both Ayman and Ammar together. They cannot seem to agree who I push at one time, so to solve THAT problem, I decided to buy a new tandem stroller. Anyway, it's a pretty normal sight here to push a tandem stroller, unlike in Malaysia.

This is the living area, and the model in front of the TV is of course, Ammar. I got the IKEA couch for only $100, and it costs more than $400. It's less than two years old, and the previous owner were a German couple, who was here for a 2 year exchange with UCLA. So, I got it from craigslist. The funny thing was that I surfed the craigslist to get a Queen-sized bed and found their ad posted. So, Paco, Nicky and me went to their place, which is near Melrose (*wink *wink), and instead of a Queen-sized bed, I got a whole bunch of things from them at only $300. The items I got were (all IKEA let me tell you!!) - A Queen-sized bed and mattress, dining table (only), couch. These items were $300, but they threw in a whole bunch of things for free - 5 IKEA LACK sidetables, 2 IKEA lamps, an IKEA starterbox which is full of plates, mugs, glasses, cooking utensils, forks and spoons, a whole bunch of containers for cooking items, 2 IKEA pillows, 2 IKEA quilts, spare IKEA bulbs for the lamps (which were floor lamp and table lamp)... and other misc stuffs.

The dining table as mentioned. The benches are brand new though. Still IKEA. :D

Bathroom with seaworld shower curtain - to encourage the kids to bathe, of course. The rug in front of the bathtub is from IKEA, other items are from Walmart. :D
